Writing

Hello Darlings, It's Thursday already! How great is that. I can't wait for the weekend. I definitely need to relax and I cannot wait to be able to spend time with my loving Hubby. It's not fun having opposite work schedules but the weekend is always a blast. We can do anything, even the simplest of things and do them laughing and smiling and having the greatest of times. I love him so very much.
I've been trying to write more and more in many places and forms. I have always loved to write but never really did much of it. I'm currently working on a book. Which is funny because I cannot tell you how many "books" I have attempted and never gotten more than a paragraph. Hopefully this one will last longer. I have a feeling it will. I've been reading more also. Which is great because I love love love to read. I just love books in general.

What are you reading or writing?

A Fabulous Weekend and a Dreary Monday

Hello Darlings! Monday again. Oh monday how I love you. Today is a dreary day in south florida. It's raining and dark and cold. Doesn't sound much like florida to me! But strangely enough I'm quite enjoying this wet weather. It makes me want to curl up with my husband and drink hot coffee. Unfortunately, we can't do that because we're both at work but the cozy feeling of this rainy day is calming my soul and relaxing me.
This weekend I ran in the Race for the Cure 5k for breast cancer research with my cousin Kehly and friend Amy. It was gorgeous weather and the race was tons of fun. I surprised myself with my time and I had an amazing time with friends and family. There were so many people there and it was so amazing to see everyone getting together for one common goal. Although I don't know anyone who is or has been effected by breast cancer, it felt good to be part of the event and know the money I raised could make a small impact on someone's life.
Also in attendance at the race was Olivia Newton John! I was pretty much really excited to get to see her. I watched the movie Grease so much growing up and it was a really cool seeing her up on the stage and not in the TV. She is a breast cancer survivor herself and she gave a little speech. It was all very inspiring and a wonderful experience. I can't wait until next year! I suppose that's all for today. I hope you all have a blessed and joy-filled day!

New Items

Hello Darlings,

So as promised I have added 2 new items to my felt shop! You can find them Here.

Last night my husband and I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's. I didn't quite finish it yet because I fell asleep haha. But so far I loved it. Audrey Hepburn is so amazing and I love the old time feel. It makes me happy. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do. :) Have a lovely day!

All too familiar

Today I'm stuck at work studying for my Ecology test tomorrow and I can't help but think about how familiar school is to me and I'm beginning to hate it. It's just a series of hoops that we are trained to jump through. You tell me what you need me to do and I do it to get a good grade. Can you see how that could get old? lol. But I am almost done and I need to be optimistic that all my work will pay off in the long run and everything will work out. For now I'm stuck in the torture that is college.
I've been finding it hard to be inspired lately due to the hectic schedule of my life and I often feel like I don't take the time to smell the fresh air or enjoy the beautiful blue sky. It's tough being busy but I'm going to try to make an effort because I believe in those simple moments you can gain some needed happiness to get you through in times you need it, such as listening to boring lectures ;). Inspiration is everywhere. Beauty is everywhere. I believe God made this earth so beautiful to give us something to enjoy and inspire us to do the things we love. I'm starting up a new Etsy and I'm really hoping to get the first item up today so I will keep you posted! In the meantime feel free to check out my vintage shop at www.JLynel.etsy.com.
Have a lovely day!
