The First

Here is the first of my new line of custom headbands. Eloise is her name and class and sophistication is her game. Eloise is made from a chocolate brown synthetic leather headband and a unique vintage brooch. The brooch is hand-sewn on and secured with pretsofelt for a smooth fit. Reality Check

Hello everyone. This morning I had a total reality check. I was feeling sorry for myself much more than I should and letting it bring me down. Instead of stepping away and deciding to be happy, I was letting myself be content on being upset. When I arrived at work I was talking with a friend in the parking lot and we both heard a big boom! We went over to the side of the street to see what it was and saw a motorcycle with the front smashed in and a man in the median holding his arm. Thank God he was okay for the most part, but it showed me that we shouldn't take life for granted. It's so easy to slip into the mindset of being upset or angry. It's harder to overcome it and to get over ourselves. So I'm going to try and make an effort. A bigger one. To realize that wasting time being mad or upset over nothing is just plain stupid and that God's plans for us are bigger than anything else.

Believe in Yourself

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been so busy but I want to get back to it. Only two and a half more months left until my wedding. :) :). I'm so very very excited about it. Plans are coming together swimmingly and I hope this time flies by. School has been seeming to drag which is kind of peculiar since I do have a large schedule this semester but at least i'm not super stressed over it all.

Sales are picking up at J.Lynel and I'm happy to say I have some fun things in the works as we speak. I've been trying to schedule in time to create because I have lots of ideas swirling around in my head. I'll definitely update you when they become a reality. (Hopefully very soon!)

I just read an article about a couple who quit their day job and support their family with etsy. It's so inspiring to me when people do this and I love to read their stories. The one thing she mentioned that jumped out at me was to believe in yourself. I think this simple statement is so encouraging because sometimes it's hard to be confident but it really pays off.

I was in the bank wearing one of my new headband designs this weekend and one of the women there commented on how much she liked it. So instead of being shy I stepped out and told her I made it and that I sell online! She and one of her friends both ended up taking my card.

I'm so glad I have the opportunity to share with people things that I love and I'm so blessed to have a God standing behind me pushing me along and encouraging me to believe in myself. Love you all!

I found this Richard Simmons Deal-A-Meal Diet Kit! Circa 1987. It's a kit where you deal from the deck of cards what you will eat to create a balanced meal. Such a cool vintage find. You can find it in my shop Here

Woo hoo! Finally friday and it's mine and my fiances one year anniversary from when we starting dating so we are going to Benihana. I'm soo excited. I can already taste it. mmm. Also, just to show how great God is, we had bought a couch about a month ago from a garage sale for $10. It's a pretty nice couch but needed some cleaning so Johnny went out and got a cleaner for $25. After that, we put it in the house where I am living. Come to find out the women who cleans the house saw it and wants to buy it from us for $100!! Wow. I am so excited, not just for the couch but for the provision. I know that we are never in need when we trust and obey.

true love

Today I have been engaged for 2 months! Only 4 to go! It seems like forever away but I know it will go super fast. I have plenty to keep me busy with planning the wedding, taking a full schedule at school and working on my Etsy site.

As I think back to when I met my fiance Johnny, I am reminded of what true love looks like and what it takes to find it. I believe it doesn't take much. It's when we find ourselves in a place where we aren't looking for love, when we're completely surrendered to Christ in saying "I'm fine being single. I know the right time will come." In our minds we think that "time" is so far off. It seems as if that time will never come. I believe it's in that moment when true love takes us off guard.

I wasn't looking and neither was he but we found each other and it was undeniable to both of us that this was something different. This was a feeling neither of us could understand. I was excited all the time and couldn't wipe my smile off if I tried. Every time we were together it seemed that everything else stopped and we were the only ones left.

I am completely in awe of him and love him more than I ever knew was possible. Before, I could never imagine what this would feel like because I had never had it. Now that I do, I appreciate things much more and I am so thankful that God brought us together.

So be encouraged, no matter what area of your life you are praying for, that God has a plan and He loves to make us happy. He will surprise you because he loves you. All you have to do is give your requests unto him and he will fulfill the desires of your heart.
